Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
I am based in Southern California and shoot in and around the LA area. I am currently working on finding a more permanent studio space.
What types of shoots do you?
I shoot portrait and lifestyle sessions centered around your needs. I also shoot on film sets and on the street for inspiration. With individual clients I offer a few packages, each offering a digital portfolio of images that you will recieve in the end.
Do you do headshots?
I have shot many a headshot for actors from the classic "theatrical" shot to the quirky commercial shot. Keep in mind that I differ slightly from the average headshot photographer in that I don't shoot hundreds of images leaving you the task of narrowing down your favorites--only to end up using one or two photos. I would rather provide you with the greatest value possible, and provide a portfolio of images you can use for headshots, marketing, and social media.
Do you shoot inside or outdoors?
I shoot both inside and outdoors, depending on what you are looking for. Email me to discuss details.
How much is a shoot?
My portfolio packages start at the introductory price of $250 for 1-2 looks. Email me for a more detailed overview of pricing.
Do you do retouching?
Basic retouching is included with your session. Call me crazy, but I like to retouch every image in your final portfolio package. We can discuss more elaborate retouching if you'd like. Additional fees may apply.
Do you offer prints?
At the time I do not offer prints. But stay tuned...
Do you only shoot individuals?
I mainly book individuals for shoots, but I also work with groups, families, and corporate clients. Contact me for more information.
How will I get my photos?
For delivery, I will send you a very easy to use download link from a webite I use called Pixieset.
How long will it take to get my finished photos?
I try to deliver the finished digital files 5-10 business days from the day of your shoot. If you are needing a faster turn around please let me know and I will do my very best to accomadate.
Will I own the copyright to the photos?
All of the photos we shoot are copyrighted and owned by the photographer, Matt Lara. By the day of the shoot, I ask that you sign a very simple, straightforward agreement and release form which I will have prepared for you in advance. This ensures a smooth business transaction, and clarifies any questions about photo usage.
How do I book you for a shoot?
